On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, CREW Denver held their annual Women of Influence Gala to recognize six women who have been noteworthy in their efforts to make Denver a great place to live, work and play.
“Denver is on its way to becoming a world class city and the CREW Denver Women of Influence awards recognize that a lot of the energy and effort to drive that transformation is coming from women in influential roles in commercial real estate,” said Kim Duty, CREW Denver’s 2017 President.
Honors were given to Top Achievers in five key commercial real estate disciplines as well as a Rookie of the Year.  The award winners were:

  • Real Estate Development: Celeste Tanner, Co-Founder, Confluent Development
  • Construction and Design: Virginia McAllister, CEO, Iron Horse Architects
  • Commercial Lending and Finance: Monica Newman, Executive Vice President, CBRE
  • Commercial Real Estate Law: Carolynne White, Shareholder, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck
  • Brokerage: Lynda Gibbons, President, Gibbons White
  • Rookie of the Year: Laura Spitzmiller, Senior Credit Analyst, MidFirst Bank

Top Achiever Award

A woman who is outstanding in her field and has achieved a level of success above and beyond her peers within her specific field of practice listed above. This may include representing or completing an impactful project in the Denver Metro market, achieving a quantifiable milestone within her field, achieving a large tactical goal on behalf of her company, or has worked to advance or mentor other women within her field.  

We recognized women in the following categories:

  • Law
  • Commercial Lending / Finance
  • Construction & Design (Construction Management/General Contracting/ Architecture/Design/Engineering/Space Planning)
  • Real Estate Development / Asset and Investment Management
  • Brokerage (Investment sales / Leasing / Tenant rep / Debt & Structured Finance)

Rookie of the Year Award

Honors a woman who has been in her specific field for five (5) or fewer years and is excelling in her practice above and beyond her peers. She is likely taking bold steps toward being a leader and making significant connections within her field. She may be making important and impactful decisions and creating a name for herself among her peers and colleagues.
