Tamara Alexander Johnson - BIO
Director of Client Strategy
Who is your role model?
Roberta Griffin, CFP FessPar Enterprises.
I met Roberta over 25 years ago at a Denver NAIOP breakfast. We were the only 2 women at that Denver CRE market event in a room full of men so, we naturally gravitated to each other. That was the beginning of a business relationship (and friendship) that has lasted for years. She has provided me guidance in my career especially in supporting me to finish my college education and to complete my MCR designation with CoreNet Global. In addition, I have watched her climb the proverbial ladder in the hotel industry career to become the CFO for a boutique hotel and winery business based in Santa Barbara, CA area.  Plus, I would also like to note that early in my career, Mary Sullivan acted as a Mentor to me and was instrumental in guiding my choices of companies to work for during the ‘90’s.

Top three life highlights?
My career in Commercial real estate, being a mother, and finishing college as a working adult.
What have you learned about CREW Denver since becoming a CREW Denver Mentor?
I was one of the founding CREW Denver members when the 2 firms WCRE and CREW merged together in approx. 1989 and joined CREW Network (then called NNCREW). Then, I served on the CREW- Denver board from 1990 – 1995, was President in 1995, and served again in 1997-1999 as Director of Programs. CREW Denver is more a part of me than most people may realize! That is why I reached out to the CREW Denver board in 2015 to begin with a business plan on how to establish the Mentor program that is in place now.  I’ve always been amazed about the Power of the CREW Network.

How do you define success?
For me, it is about always trying to be the best person that I can be and, to do the best job that I can do, in any given circumstance. Life has thrown many curves at me in my life but I have always kept my optimistic spirit and I never gave up!
Describe what you were like at age 10.
I was a book-worm, smart, a tomboy, and horse-crazy! And, I wanted to the 1st woman president of the US!
What is your favorite quote?
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ whom strengthens me”

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
Hmmm… how about “…And she was resilient!”
