Michael is responsible for providing comprehensive investment banking services including the transaction execution and quantitative structuring of both tax-exempt and taxable debt financings for primarily Colorado clients. Michael’s experience includes working with Colorado Metropolitan Districts, Business Improvement Districts, General Improvement Districts, School Districts, Counties, Cities, Utilities, Transportation Issuers and Non-profit Entities. Michael has developed specialty expertise working primarily with special districts in Colorado constructing complex financing structures which utilize unique and wide ranging revenue sources. The monetization of these revenues for Special District clients have included Tax Increment Financing, Ad Valorem Mill Levies, Use Tax, Assessments, Public Improvement Fees and various one time revenue sources. During his career Michael has assisted in the issuance of over $7.0 billion in debt financings throughout the State of Colorado.
Michael graduated with honors from Colorado State University, with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on investment analysis and Economics. He is a former Vice Chair for the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center and a former Treasurer of the Colorado Municipal Bond Dealers Association. He has presented at numerous local industry meetings for municipal finance professionals including the Special District Association and Colorado Government Finance Officers Association. Michael is also a past graduate of the Downtown Denver Leadership Program, ULI Development 360 and participant in the Colorado Urban Land Institute Partnership Forum. He maintains Series 7, 50, 63, and 79 FINRA licenses.
